Document the BXH/BXLE/JXH/JXLE trick

An article in either the systems journal or the journal of RF&D described using BXH and BXLE to test 30 bits in succession. This trick is still valid and extends to 62 consecutive tests in AMODE64. It would be useful to have it in either the e...

Enable GDPS SSC to use RACF keyrings

Currently Managing a GDPS SSC system requires the use of gskkyman to create, load and maintain the needed certificates for the HMC access in a user defined z/OS unix filesystem. This IDEA is to request that support for RACF keyrings be added as an...

Dynamically switch between Global Mirror and Metro Mirror

We have two remote data centers, separated 50km, with 2 Z CECs on each. We have 3 DASD copies, 2 on one DC, and 1 in the other. The key point is the GDPS MM3site Dual Leg between both data centers. During normal conditions, our production workload...

z/OS guest under z/VM should hyperswap the same as anything else under z/VM; zLinux for example

In the current implementation with z/OS guests not hyperswapping with z/VM limits the production use of z/OS guests. Removing this limitation would extend and enhance z/VM.

Partial restore from LCP safeguarded copy

LCP safeguarded copy creates consistent copies of group of disks. It can only restore the whole set, while it would potentially be interesting to restore only a subset of these disks.

GDPS GSM to support 2 site Metro Mirror

As we are looking at a configuration that has Mainframe and Open system disks, we would need to have a GDPS 2 site Metro Mirror with Mainframe and Open disks in one consistency group, in particular for the hyperswap aspect. However, our target con...

Backup and restore of GDPS configuration

Today GDPSMNT can be used to backup and restore. It would make more sense to have a built in interface to take backup and restore interactively or have the possibility to use batch or similar on different point in time.

Backup GDPS data that is saved in the NetView save/restore database.

Today, GDPSMNT exists in GDPS Metro and can be used to export and import user-specified GDPS data that is saved in the NetView save/restore database (that is, the DSISVRT dataset). We would like the same tool (or similar) in GDPS Global so we can ...

recover GM should indicate date and time for the data

After a stop, when we do a RECOVER GM, we do not know the date and time of the recover. We should find somewhere the date and time of the last good consistency point. This will probably be the first thing ask by management in case of real DR.
