Exception handle is an important mechanism to help programmers debug their programs. Many of the literature books mention the use of this mechanism to increase the quality of the application. Although C11/C14 has no longer recommend the use of the exception mechanism, but not prohibited to use, now the most of global C++ engineers still use this mechanism to developing their applications.
Our client is TAIWAN Stock Exchange(TWSE), we use IBM XL C/C++ to developing our application system for years. But there is a problem, when we test our programs or debug that applications or online system application fail, the XL C/C++ can't provide us message to understand what's wrong with that programs, because the function exception.what() returns nothing.
So, we hope the XL C/C++ product team could enhance that function to displaying a message including the exception cause and cause object. This message will be very helpful to most of the C++ programmers to develop their application better. So, we deeply hope IBM product team enhance the function exception.what() to display a message that helps us make the application more smoothly.
Our hardware, software and operation system version as bellow :
Hardware : IBM Power system P780MHD
Operation System : IBM AIX 7.1 TL3 SP6
XL C/C++ : IBM XL C/C++ Compiler 11.01.000.0016
