This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.
Welcome to the IBM Ideas Portal (https://www.ibm.com/ideas) - Use this site to find out additional information and details about the IBM Ideas process and statuses.

Please note that comparison of CSDs has been provided in CICS CM V5.3. Please ask ICBC to deploy CICS CM V5.4 which has this enhancement and many others including support for zFS artifacts.

Following discussions with CICS CM development, we now understand the requirement as follows:
Part 1 - Batch CSD to CSD compare
Part 2 - Batch compare of CPSM (DREP) definitions
Part 3 - Compare of CPSM (DREP) definitions online

As I can not edit the RFE, so I will explain more details about the requests here:
The background is that ICBC has two production systems, Production P and Production B, which are active-active. ICBC has the requirement to compare the CSDs and DReps from two production systems. Currently ICBC do the comparison manually, so they expect an automatic tool to help them easily and efficiently do the comparison.
1. CICS CM Batch Comparison enhancement for CSDs
By CM V5.2, we can use CM dialog 4.1 (Multiple Configs) to compare two CSDs, this function is good. Besides this dialog comparison, ICBC still expect a batch style comparison. During the PoC, I used deployment analysis batch function to compare two CSDs for ICBC, but the comparison result is not exactly what we want. We expect CM can supply a batch function to compare two CSDs, and generate a report to tell: the number of matches, the number of mismatches, the number of missing; and give the details about the mismatch and missing records. And the batch function can support the filter to ignore the attributes which customer don't care about.
During the PoC I used the Candidates Compare report as a workaround to compare ICBC CSDs, and I found:
(1). We don't need the Duplicate Definitions Verification and Referential Integrity Verification parts, what we want is mismatch part.
(2). If a resource is duplicated, it will go into Duplicate Definitions Verification part, and CM will not compare it and show it in the Mismatched Definitions part.
2. DREP comparison
For ICBC's case, they define all the application related resources in CSDs, and define all the system related resources in DReps, like WLMDEF, TRANGRP, DTRINGRP. Consider the privacy for customer, I will send the ICBC DRep file to Satish by notes rather than attached here, then you can understand the detail resource definitions defined in ICBC's DRep.
Like CSD comparison, ICBC expect CM can supply the dialog and batch comparison for DReps also. As far as I know, by CM v5.2, we can only support the comparison for BAS resources, not support TOPOLOGY and WLM definitions.
According to my judgement, the priority for the requests is:
priority1. the CSD batch function
priority2. batch comparison for DReps
priority3. dialog comparison for DReps
Please reply comments if you need more details, thanks!
Please provide more detail on the two use cases you have described. What enhancements are you looking for with regard to Batch Comparison of CSDs. As you know, CICS CM Deployment Analysis provides the Candidates Compare report. What details do you require over and above what is currently provided in the candidate compares report.
For the requirement on DREP comparison, provide use cases for comparison of TOPOLOGY and WLM definitions.
