Yes, the proposed shortened change package menu would suit our requirements.
Hi there, thanks for raising this idea.
Suppression of the External Reference (EXTREF) field on the change package ISPF menu panel (CCVPPKGE) is not supported by CICS CM Development, as this field maybe in use for multiple customers. However, CICS CM Development understands that a primary reason for EXTREF field suppression was to allow the display to fit onto a 32x80 screen size, without the need for downwards scrolling. CICS CM Devolopment proposes another solution to meet a “screen size” requirement.
CICS CM Development propose that PREV/NEXT page scrolling (e.g. right/left scrolling) be introduced to enable the user to toggle to a shortened menu display panel. Experimentation of the short menu indicates that the display will fit onto a 24x80 screen size. The shortened menu takes the 12 processing option description lines, and reduces these to 3 lines using horizontal, abbreviated option terms such as 1. Package, 2. List and ending with 12. Notes. The shortened panel retains all the functionality of the long panel, and the dialog will return the user’s menu panel preference.
Please let me know if you have further comment.
