Catering for variable timezones at the CICS region level

We have CICS applications running on a z/OS mainframe that now need to accommodate varying local time differences (i.e. multiple countries & multiple time zones in those countries), including daylight saving, while running on the same z/OS LPAR.

To assist with the solution, we can clone the application into multiple CICS regions, based on various local time zones. But we have the limiting requirement that all cloned regions have to run on the same LPAR.

One solution would be if CICS had a DFHSIT parameter that would:
1. allow input of a value that reflected a + or – time difference to be applied, whenever CICS synchronizes the CICS local time with the z/OS system time.
Thus, the CICS Timer Domain would include and track the + or – time difference contained in the DFHSIT override parameter.
2. The DFHSIT parameter can subsequently be updated dynamically via CEMT or equivalent.
It would be important that we could track any dynamic time changes to this DFHSIT parameter. (eg. A DFH Message with the time change details and the user who did it, for auditing purposes).

We are aware of the various date simulation tools(eg. IBM's HourGlass Product ) that are available.
But they are not seen as a production solution and we don't need anything as functionally rich as those products.

This requirement has been re-evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next two CICS TS releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

I am involved in a credit card bureau where we have numerous customers across multiple time zones. Each customer runs in their own descreet set of CICS regions, however they all run in the same z/os LPAR. By allowing CICS regions to have their own offset from GMT or LPAR time would decrease complexitiy and increase transaction reporting accuracy significantly.
