This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This requirement has been re-evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the twelve months, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.
Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - Transaction Processing
Product - CICS Transaction Server
For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - WebSphere
Product family - Transaction Processing
Product - CICS Transaction Server
This is a candidate for a future release.
CICS has lots of timeout values, read timeout, deadlock timeout, runaway. This RFE is being returned to you to provide more information. Please be more specific as to what timeout you are referring to and add a comment to the RFE with more information.
The timeout here is the one specified in profile used by DPL request. All request DPLed from TOR to AOR will use the same profile. That means all request will have the same timeout value. This seems not useful since for different reuqest, the time they need to get the response is different(eg, request to DB2 will take long time). Currently there is no way to specify timeout for different DPL programs.
Another problem is that, even after timeout value reached in TOR, DPLed program in AOR will keep running since no one will purge it..
