Develop CEMT NEW COPY for BUNDLES

Please develop CEMT S BUNDLE(bbb) NEW COPY feature. The currently prescribed approach requires discarding a bundle then installing it again with CEDA. (or using CPSM). Most of our developers use CEMT but giving them CEDA is not favored.

We have a growing need to use the new JVMServer and are hoping the CEMT BUNDLE NEW COPY can be developed soon.

Thanks!
Dennis

This RFE is satisfied by CICS TS 5.3 which is generally available from December 11th 2015.

Support is provided for phasein of Java programs running in an OSGI JVM Server.
The new PHASEIN support for the SET BUNDLE command enables the registration of a new version of an OSGi bundle with the OSGi framework, to replace any version currently registered. The new version of any OSGi services that are implemented by the new version of an OSGi bundle are then used by any new invocation of a Java program that is defined to use this OSGi service. Existing requests will continue to use the old version until the request completes.

Moving this RFE's state back to Uncommitted candidate as it is not targeted to be in the next release but is a candidate for inclusion in a future release after that.

This is not something we plan to support via CEMT, but is something we would like to address via Explorer, eg  Explorer could provide an update option that would perform an  inquire / disable / discard on the resources from the bundle parts for the bundle being re-installed, which would have the same effect.
