CICS TS Business Event and Web Services SOAP and JSON Support

CICS TS BE doesn't let you to capture events on EXEC CICS LINK when it is issued by DFH modules with some exceptions and a recent APAR extend to DFHMIRS this capability. I think that it is important let to capture an event though EXEC CICS LINK also when the request coming from Web service SOAP and JSON pipeline (CPIH - DFHPIDSH). In other words we need to have the same solution that we provided for CTG extending DFHMIRS to capture events, to support new Mobile applications.

    Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months, or in the next CICS TS release. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

    Thankyou for raising this requirement. It has been marked as a uncommitted candidate for a future release. Note there are a few workarounds at present, 1) use either capture point PROGRAM INIT or RETURN for the target program in the CICS region in which it will execute, or 2) write a wrapper program that issues a LINK to the target program, then capture the LINK made in the wrapper, and 3) write a pipeline program that issues a SIGNAL EVENT and capture that event.
