Expand EXEC CICS ENABLE EXIT to return RESP2 if GLUE/TRUE has not been recompiled

Provide an EXEC CICS ENABLE EXIT handshake protocol to successfully enable and activate a GLUE or TRUE within CICS TS. In order to ensure that the GLUE or TRUE has been assembled using the current release of CICS TS libraries, the new protocol would require any GLUE or TRUE to be assembled with a new macro. The new macro would be an entry point to the GLUE or TRUE as part of a new ENABLE protocol. For an EXEC CICS ENABLE to be successful, the macro would automatically respond to an ENABLE request with a symbolic from the macro to confirm it has been assembled with the current release of CICS TS libraries. If the GLUE or TRUE does not respond correctly, the ENABLE request will fail and the GLUE or TRUE will not be activated.

We have assessed this requirement. We have no current plans for this to be implemented and so this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

Bill responded to indicate GLUEs only would be acceptable

For Global user exits, this sounds like a good idea, as GLUEs should be reassembled for each release.

For TRUEs, I am not sure we can insist on this. TRUEs are exec capable and as such are like command level application programs for which provide object code compatibility for. The problem comes when TRUEs use the XPI. The XPI was intended for use by GLUEs, and hence the requirement for regen GLUEs each release. However there is nothing to stop a TRUE using the XPI which then makes it susceptible to changes in the XPI.
