Implement z/OS ID Propagation for HTTP REST in CICS

Our CWS applications are developed in a three tiers architecture. User request filled in throught browser passed to IIS server then forword to CICS CWS using HTTP protocol all the way. We hope that CICS can support z/OS ID Propagation for CWS HTTP as well. This feature makes z/OS RACF security can also be fully integrated with Window Active Directory. security domain.

Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months, or in the next CICS TS release. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

    Colin:

Thank you for considering our request.
We are using AD and we do not use Datapower and SOA Web services.

My company has its own intranet with its own fiber network. Our mainframe is basically for internal use. Of course, if we ever want mainframe as our cloud server, to realize the concept of “Any Where, Any Time, Any Device”, internet access may not be able to avoid. We definitely need an integrated and secured solution for our web applications.

Currently, our .NET applications are in Window's Active Directory security domain. Applications vary in their security implementations depending on the consequences of data exposure.

People in my company tune on their PC and login in their AD account every work day. This has been practiced for more than a decade. We hope that CWS can support ID Propagation and provide us a way to integrate with AD. The choice of whether to login CICS with IBM mainframe user ID and password will really depend on each application security requirement. However, The arguments about integration with AD between PC people and mainframe people can be set aside. The question can be focused on security and auditing requirement.

    WeiShine,
    thank you for your RFE.
Can you clarify a couple of points about your architecture.

What method of client authentication do you use on IIS.
Do you use Datapower in your architecture?

    Many thanks,
