This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Hi Lisa,
I think this one fell through a crack somewhere! As far as I can see, Explorer's workload specification editor provides a way to do what you want. Does this work ok for you? Or are there some other enhancements you're interested in in this area?
Hi Lisa, In the import dialog, you can actually import WLMDEFs and WLMGROUPs, you're able to select either. Does that work for you?
Maybe this is some confusion about Explorer's WLM terminology. What you'll see referred to as a Rule in Explorer's WLM UI, is in fact a WLMDEF. Clicking the plus button in the Rules section allows you define a new routing rule (WLMDEF). Alternatively you can click the import button to reuse an existing Rule or group of rules (WLMDEF / WLMGROUP) that's already defined as part of another workload. You could have defined this in Explorer, or in the WUI. It's all the same stuff in CPSM terms - there are no new resources.
Stew
Hey Stewart, If I'm understanding though, you would still have to define the WLMDEF in the WUI, so that you could IMPORT it in CICS Explorer? Can you please confirm?
Hi Lisa, you can use the import button to import either WLMDEFs or WLMGROUPs, Once you've imported WLMDEFs you can add them to existing WLMGROUPs by right clicking and selecting "Group with >" and choosing the target WLMGROUP (or WLMDEF) from the submenu.
See earlier comment
The Import seemed to work, to satisify the WLMSPEC to Multiple WLMGROUP relationship issue.
Is there a way to associate More than one WLMDEF to the Same WLMGROUP? Do you have to define the "additional" WLMDEF in the WUI first?
We will often have more than one WLMDEF associated with the same WLMGROUP.
Hi there,
Good news - I think you can achieve this already! In the toolbar buttons associated with the Routers group, there's one that looks like an arrow pointing into a tray. Its tooltip is "Import an Existing Routing Rule or Group".
This should allow you to reuse previously defined WLMGROUPs or WLMDEFs within a different WLMSPEC.
Can you have a try and let us know?
