This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

DFHSC2LS support of abstract datatypes

Problem occurs during DFHSC2LS, when the xsd-file contains abstract datatypes. In this case, an amount of copybooks is generated, one for each variant of the abstract datatype.
The structures in the copybooks contain field- or groupnames, which contain the name of the copybooks (in this case SELOHI04):
01 SELOHI04-Fehler.
03 Fehler.
06 Fehlernummer PIC X(255).
06 Fehlertext PIC X(255).

So in order to be unique, the Cobol-field "Fehler" has to be used in a qualified way ( e.g. "MOVE 'ABC' TO Fehler in SELOHI04-Fehler"), since there are several instances of "Fehler" in several copybooks.
The problem is, that in case, e.g. a new variant of the abstract datatype is added to the schema (or one is deleted from), and the transformation-ressource gets regenerated, the names of nearly all generated copybooks change, and it is a lot of trouble to change all the copybook-names in the field- and groupnames of the COBOL-program.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

This requirement has been re-evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next two CICS TS releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.
