The way CICS manages RM links cause troubles to long running transactions that don't issue syncpoint.

A severe error (code X'2526') has occurred in module DFHERM because of a zeroed RM link token is assigned to a task. This depends by excessive number of SOCKLINK associated to the same UOW. The task owning the UOW is a long running outbound task that never issues user syncpoint. There is a restriction in this area so that each time a socket send is issued an RM ADD_LINK get a new SOCKLINK token, but no RM DELETE_LINK is issued when socket is closed till the end of task. Thus the error is finally generated.
As a bypass to circumvent the problem, the application needs to be modified. It could periodically reattach itself, and go through task termination which will free off the links. This should resolve the problem.
