Allow automatic restart of CICS WEB INTERFACE after a TCP/IP outage

The CICS Web Interface CWI goes into an immediate disable processing if the OS/390 eNetwork Communications Server abends. The CWI has to be manually restarted in order to restart the CICS Web interface.
The CICS internet guide says :
2.13.1 Recovery procedures (CICS Web support)
If a TCPIPSERVICE definition is installed and enabled when CICS fails, that definition is re-installed and re-enabled when CICS recovers. Any changes made to the TCPIPSERVICE with CEMT are not recovered.
If OS/390 eNetwork Communications Server abends, CICS Web support enters immediate disable processing but CICS continues to run.
Customer would like the CWI restart to be automatic as with DB2 attach interface.
In the case of DB2 ( from the CICS DB2 guide )
..
"Specify STANDBYMODE=RECONNECT in the DB2CONN. This ensures that the CICS DB2 attachment facility waits(in standby mode) for DB2 to initialize and connect automatically, should DB2 be down when connection is first attempted. Also, if DB2 subsequently fails, the CICS DB2attachment facility reverts again to standby mode
and wait for DB2. It then automatically connects when DB2 returns."

CICS opens TCPIPSERVICE automatically after a TCP/IP restart. Available with z/OS 2.5 and higher, ENF event code 80 signals when a TCP/IP stack and its extended services have been fully initialized. CICS can now respond to ENF 80 events and automatically set the TCPIPSERVICE status back to OPEN if it was set to CLOSED as a result of an outage of TCP/IP. Support is provided in CICS TS 6.2 which has been announced and will GA June 14th 2024.

Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months, or in the next CICS TS release. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.
