CPSM enhancement

CPSM should have knowledge of the DB2/MQ region failure and not continue to route transaction to failing DB2/MQ.

This RFE is satisfied by CICS TS 5.3 which is generally available from December 11th 2015.

CICS now informs the z/OS Workload Manager when requests fail because connections to IMS, IBM MQ, and VSAM RLS are unavailable. This extends the support for connections to DB2 in previous releases. The CICSPlex SM dynamic routing program uses this information to avoid routing more work to a CICS region that is affected by the "storm drain effect".

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

Apologies, I failed to publish this reply: Thanks for the clarification that this RFE is asking for similar storm drain avoidance in the CICS-MQ Attach. It is a candidate for inclusion in a future release.

The storm drain support will address the specific concern when the Db2 is down. Citibank is requesting if the similar logic can be extended to CICS-MQ attachment.... ie. policy be put in place to reroute the transaction to available AOR when the MQ is down.

Since CICS TS 1.2, the CICS-DB2 Attach has had what we call storm drain support, meaning that if it is standby mode because the connection to DB2 is down and it is waiting to reconnect, as well as reporting a -923 SQL code to an application that issues an EXEC SQL request, the CICS-DB2 Attach also updates the WML Performance block to indicate that the request has not worked. This flows back to the TOR and is used by CPSM to route away from this AOR.

This RFE mentions both MQ and DB2. We are aware that the same storm drain support is not available for CICS-MQ attach, so a request for the same function for MQ is valid. Please clarify what the issue is with DB2.
