Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

In discussions with DB2 an alternative solution is proposed by DB2 rather than the customer needing CICS to support the DB2 client API. Hence this requirement on CICS is being rejected.

The solution would be implemented in DB2 for CICS (and IMS/TM) attach. The customer would need to stop using the dynamic plan selection exit, and use the SQL SET CURRENT PACKAGESET inside the CICS applications to switch the package collection. DB2 would then automatically take the package collection value and populate the Client Application Name in the standard header for every IFC trace record cut by DB2: accounting, locking trace, SQL trace etc. So the customer using tooling can distinguish between individual institutions/institutions groups to study DB2 application performance and for charge back. By using ACCOUNTREC(TXID) in CICS RDO definition the customer can continue to get a breakdown by individual transaction name as well.
