NQEA Freechain storage is not freed until CICS is recycled.

When a CICS region goes SOS(Short on Storage) NQEA control blocks on the freechain are not freed. This resulted in task waiting for storage to run/complete and never being able to run because there are many NQEAs on the FREECHAIN (available but not in use) If a customer has many ENQUEUEs without a SYNCPOINT, SOS could exist until CICS is recycled. The storage should be freed to assist in eliminating the SOS condition so CICS will not have to be recycled.

    This requirement is satisfied by CICS TS 5.2 which is generally available from June 13th 2014.

    This requirement is satisfied by CICS TS 5.2 which was announced 7th April 2014 with a planned general availability date of June 13th 2014. For more information see the IBM CICS Transaction Server for  z/OS, V5.2 announcement letter
