Enhancement of Web Service Assistant for Enterprise PLI

When generating wsdl/wsbind files with the Webservice Assistant DFHLS2WS
for all of our business services written in PL/I, we receive the message DFHPI9565E.

DFHPI9565E: ALIGNED and UNALIGNED keywords are not supported for an entire structure.
This limitation severly impacts our migration to webservices.

All the structure declarations of our business services have been implemented with UNALIGED option specified at the top level of the structure. The current version of the webservice assistant supports the UNALIGNED option only on the level of the individual fields of a structure, but not on the top level of the complete structure.

With this enhancement request we ask the option to support the ALIGNED and UNALIGNED attributes for an entire language structure.

This requirement has been re-assessed. It is not likely that this will be implemented in the next 12-24 months and so it is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

It would also be nice if the utility supported the abbrev form of the UNALIGNED keyword on the individual fields. (i.e. UNAL). We have over 6,000 copybooks that use the UNAL keyword.
