Provide a way before signing on a user to allow for verification that the user can use the userid being signed on.

Also disconnect users from their sessions if they have PF3ed out of the signon process - i.e. force them to sign on.

Can we provide a front end program to DFHSNP that would recognize a firecall ID was being used, ask the user signing on for their "normal" userid and password, verify their authortity to use the firecall ID and then XCTL to DFHSNP? Could this front end program be specified in a SIT parameter?

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

    Whilst a firecall id mechanism could be implemented for 3270 signons, this is not the only method of access to CICS. Other methods, such as via CPSM and the CICS Explorer, use verify rather than signon to authenticate. These alternative methods of access would not be amenable to this two part credential checking. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next two CICS TS releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.
