View SYSPARM data across multiple CICS regions simultaneously

Allow CICS region SYSPARM data to be displayed and filtered, across multiple CICS regions, just as is available in the CPSM WUI.

This requirement has been re-assessed. It is not likely that this will be implemented in the near future and so it is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

It is useful in several instances.

Query to see if all (or specifically which regions) currently specify RRMS=YES, to get a list of all GRPLIST entries in all regions and to validate, for example, to validate that an implementation to turn RRMS=YES (or the alteration of any other SIT parm) on was successful.

And also, as you mentioned, it's very useful in debugging.

Hi, I would like to throw my support behind this RFE. The WUI's view of the SYSPARM table at Home > CICS Operations > CICS region operations views > System parameters is MUCH more friendly than what is currently provided in Explorer, because the WUI view will return the SIT parm values for EACH region in a CICSplex.

This makes it very handy for viewing or reporting on a particular setting or all SIT parm settings across all regions, to see if regions are set differently, etc.

In the CICS Explorer, I can only right click on a single region and view its SIT parameters. This in my view is a step backward from the view that the WUI provides.

Please provide a table view in CICS Explorer for the SYSPARM resource table, that will return all SYSPARM values for the scope of a CICSplex.

We use the SYSPARM view to check SYSIN parms for multiple regions to find out differences from our standards. As a provider (new) customers bring their own SIT parms but we will have a standard as far as possible. I would also like to have an extension to this RFE. There should also be the possibility to change the parms. STATRCD is a good example. Sometimes it may be necessary to put STATRCD=ON for some but not all CICS regions to analyse some statistcal data and I will not do it for all regions running with the same SIT parms.

The kind of thing I am looking to do with viewing the SYSPARMs with the scope covering multiple regions is to see differences between parameter.
For example I needed to find out which regions (out of 94 in an plex) had STATRCD values different to our standard setting. This is extremely tedious to do when only able to see a single region at a time. In this case I resorted to using CPSM WUI and that gave me the answer in less than a minute.
I often need to do something similar and look for differences between various SYSPARM parameters across multiple regions.
I am hoping this RFE will allow me to get the same functionality to view any defined scope/context and have the same filtering ability in Explorer that the WUI provides.
    Regards - Grant.

    Hi there,

Thanks for the RFE. I can understand what's being asked for but, so that we can get the bigger picture, please can you give me some examples of the kinds of tasks that you'd be doing that require seeing the SYSPARMs particularly in context across all regions. I suspect perhaps it's troubleshooting, but don't like to assume! A few examples would be helpful to make sure that if we are able to look at this RFE we have the ability to choose the most appropriate solution.

    Thanks!
