TCPIPService definition be able to get Hostname / IP address and port information from CICS System definition.

Customer intends to use the IPCONN Autoinstall program (DFHISAIP). However, as they have a CICSplex with several MASes, he would like to define just one TCPIPSERVICE, protocol (IPIC), to be used for all regions during the autoinstall process. For this, customer has requested that the TCPIPSERVICE can be defined to get the information about Hostname/IP address and port number from the CICS system definition of each region, instead the data defined itself (on TCPIPSERVICE definition), as it is done nowadays to the SYSLINK definitions. Customer suggested, e.g., an additional option in order to indicate if the Hostname/IP address and port information should be got from the CICS system definition or from the TCPIPService definition itself.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

We don't have any plans to enhance the tcpip service definition process to use CSYSDEF info as requested. CPSM BASalready provides this functionality in its resource model.

However, longer term we are looking at the issue of configuration of IPIC interconnectivty between CICS regions as part of our cloud roadmap.
