Dedicated Timeout Parm for WEB CONVERSE/WEB RECEIVE

We currently use WEB CONVERSE to get data back from remote services via HTTP.

We have run into issues whereby system failures on the destination side will not send a response resulting in the CICS task to indefinitely wait until intervention occurs to purge the task.

Looking at the CICS documentation and from previous PMRs, our current recourse is to modify the RTIMOUT value for our transactions.

We are looking into solutions to use a different PROFILE resource for our application transactions but have concerns that this may interrupt transactions waiting for input such as debug tool and our small catalog of conversation transactions. Having this at the API/request level alleviates the need to tweak transaction policy.

Therefore we would be interested in having an additional TIMEOUT or EXPIRES parm included with WEB CONVERSE or WEB RECEIVE API calls.

    Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months, or in the next CICS TS release. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.
