Improvements when handling WS-AT requests in a very constrained system.

This customer is using the HOGAN application, which is popular in banking. This application uses WS-AT for some of the inbound requests. These result in a CPIH being initially attached and then the WS-AT context switch occurs and an HSOA task runs the application work.



To avoid the system becoming overloaded with CPIH tasks these are put into a TCLASS. This is the standard advice for web services that have a context switch. The problem comes when there is a surge of work and all the TCLASS slots are filled with new WS-AT based application requests. If CPIH is in a TCLASS and all the slots are filled then the RegisterResponse message can't be handled and the waiting HSOA task will not be resumed.


The solution is to use a different transaction for WS-AT protocol messages, that does not get used by anything else and is not in a TCLASS. This allows protocol messages to always be handled even if the limit of concurrent application requests has been reached.
