CICS could gather diagnostics information regarding TCPIP stack failures.

When TCPIP Stack has left the TCPIP SYSPLEX GROUP by consequence of a failure on the stack itself and do not prevent if of working for completely. On this case, CICS TCPIPServices, used for receiving IBM INTEGRATION BUS (or Message Broker) calls from the SAME SYSPLEX, will fail by security reason, as the stack will not be considered to be in the SAME SYSPLEX anymore. CICS TCPIPServices allow http connections only from INSIDE the SYSPLEX. From OUTSIDE the SYSPLEX it requires https So, it will have a SECURITY VIOLATION message on CICS SYSOUT but with no RACF ICH408I message as it is not a resource authorization common failure. No diagnostics are present on CICS nor IIB/BROKER taking too long to the customer find out the root cause. Then CICS could issue a message after the SECURITY VIOLATION message, like “The stack being used IS NOT PART of local SYSPLEX – please use https instead. It will lead the local customer Support Team to investigate the stack itself as they know both sides of the connection are from the same SYSPLEX.

    Support is provided in CICS TS 6.2 which has been announced and will GA June 14th 2024.
