Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months, or in the next CICS TS release. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

This is a "top 6" requirement for the UK CICS User group.
It was raised directly with Fraser Bohm and Dave Jeffries at the UK User Group Meeting in Manchester in July 2015.
I would like to have this TIMEOUT also applied to local LINK as this will help us to be more specific and not having to cater for lowest common deniminator and thereby more likely to run the risk of sympathy sickness.
In addition, if this is available, we will be able to replace our current START/DELAY logic by the local LINK because the flow control will be simpler and CPU consumption will be lesser. The most important thing is that START is not threadsafe.
This is a candidate for a future release in the medium term.
