Expand recordsize in File Control Program for VSAM

Currently you can't have a VSAM record bigger than 32767 bytes because the record size is in a half word in the File Control Program.  Expanding the record will allow us to hold more data in a single record.  It will allow you to use channel and containers instead of a commarea to pass data between programs and write to disk.  This will eliminate the need of smaller record size with record types for data that should be group together.

    CICS Development: This idea has been evaluated. The 32K limit is a VSAM defined limit which would have to be lifted. The API would then have to be changed to support longer length records. For recoverable files, logging is involved and there is a 64K limit imposed by the z/OS logger.
    We have no plans for this to be implemented, so the idea is being declined.
