This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This RFE is satisfied by changes made in CICS TS 5.6 to track MVS storage usage and report on short on storage conditions. There are additional statistics including SMSMVS24TOTALUNALLOC (The current total amount of unallocated user region storage) and SMSMVS24LARGESTUNALLOC (The size of the current largest contiguous storage area available in unallocated user region storage). For more information see https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cics-ts/5.6?topic=statistics-storage-manager-global and https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cics-ts/5.6?topic=sr-mvs-user-region-extended-user-region-storage-report
This is candidate for a future release.
Hi,
I have looked at the calculations from the STAT and they are similar to what we are asking. The requested number should be the largest single contiguous DSA available during that covered interval (15 minutes). We hope to use this as a bellwether indicator for available DSA and to use a significant portion of this to add to the region and still track over time.
Thanks,
DBH
Have you taken a look at the storage manager report than is produced by sample DFH0STAT, ie by running the STAT transaction and selecting a storage manager report ?
For example for below the line storage it includes figures for:
Private Area Region size below 16Mb
Max User storage allocated below 16Mb (VIRT)
Private Area storage available below 16Mb
VIRT minus Current DSA Limit
Likewise for 31 bit storage it includes figures for:
Private Area Region size above 16Mb
Max User storage allocated above 16Mb (EXT)
Private Area storage available above 16Mb
EXT minus Current EDSA Limit
Is this the sort of thing you are requiring ?
