Need a new transaction equivalent to CEMT INQUIRE

The auditors want reports on who has accessed critical transactions such as CEMT. Even though we have our security definitions set up so most users can only use INQUIRE with CEMT, SMF simply reports a user executed CEMT with no further breakdown.

If there were a different transaction (eg CEMI) which is the equivalent of CEMT INQUIRE, we could use this to INQUIRE and save CEMT for SET, PERFORM and DISCARD.

    CICS TS 5.1 provides an audit trail of SPI commands, so whatever command is issued via CEMT you get a audit message giving details of the command issued and who issued it.

    CICS also provides a more modern interface than CEMT, namely CICS Explorer. CICS Explorer can be connected to a single CICS region or a CICSPlex. CICS Explorer can be connected using the CICS Management Client Interface (CMCI) which provides update access, or it can be connected using the CICSPlex SM Data Interface which provides read-only access.

    We have no plans to produce a read-only CEMT.
