CICS Explorer Event binding editor import data structure should support all valid COBOL picture strings

CICS Explorer 5.5 Event Binding editor cannot successfully import a COBOL language structure that contains an embedded '.' (decimal point) character in a zoned decimal field. Example:
05 WS-COST PIC ZZZ.99.
Such a picture string is valid in COBOL 6 and differs from the traditional use of 'V' as an implied decimal point because it causes the actual decimal point character to be stored in the data.
This is particularly troublesome when attempting to define an application event capture spec in an event binding that needs to capture such fields as part of the event data. One instance of an application that uses this type of field definition is the example CATALOG application that is supplied with CICS itself. The sample field definition I provided above was copied directly from members DFH0XSDS and DFH0XVDS found in *.SDFHSAMP. This situation makes it impossible to import the COBOL language structure from either of these programs for the purpose of constructing an event binding/event spec/event capture spec package to extract this field and include it in event data captured from the EXMPCAT sample file, and likewise any other COBOL application that uses this kind of data definition picture string.
