This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Rather than be able to change the suffix of the MCT and so what MCT table is loaded (and hence get CICS to reload a different MCT table and change all the settings),we would favour removing the need to a compiled and loaded table and have some RDO like capability for the MCT. It remains a long term goal to remove the need for compiled tables.
We use a private program (DINO EXPLORER) to read and process the monitoring data in CICS.
We identified that many fields in this program did not appear because they were being suppressed in the generation of SMF data.
The MCTs we used were configured incorrectly, we adapted them and validated that now all fields appear in the DINO.
But, to update which table CICS is using, it is necessary to stop / start CICS.
Opening a change request just to justify seemingly simple recycling in CICS is very bureaucratic in most organizations.
For example, there is still an environment where we did not get the necessary approvals and we were waiting for almost two months. If there was a possibility of making this MCT table change via command it would be much more practical.
Please could you give details of the usecase involved here. What is it that causes a need to change the state of monitoring? Do you run with it off but then require it on for some reason?
