Type 4 DB2 driver compatability in CICS OSGI JVM server

Support Type 4 DB2 drivers from OSGI JVM's also address the integrity issues, commit and roll back

    We have assessed this requirement. We have no current plans for this to be implemented and so this requirement is being declined at this point. For Type 4 we recommend you use a Liberty JVMSERVER.

    Have you seen this performance Red Paper comparing JDBC Type 2 and Type 4 in a Liberty environment ? See http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/redp5208.html?Open

    One of the conclusions is

    For the global transaction scope configurations used in this study, it was found that the type 2 JDBC driver delivered the best performance characteristics, in terms of total CPU cost, zIIP usage, and web request response times.


    So type 4 should not be seen as a means of reducing cpu time.
