CPSM tasks in a MAS can block the QR TCB to the detriment of normal application workload.

In a CICS region managed by CPSM, there are certain CPSM tasks that run occasionally. These tasks can potentially have a negative impact on the response time of the normal application workload running in the CICS region. In particular, it is the CPSM tasks' use of the QR TCB that can prevent normal application tasks from running as quickly as possible. This RFE requests that CPSM change so that its tasks run on an Open TCB rather than on the QR TCB. That way

Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months, or in the next CICS TS release. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

Before we can supply CPSM definitions with Concurrency(threadsafe), we need to remove the code dependency on QR TCB, ie make the code threadsafe. This is a candidate for a future release.

All IBM definitions should come with Concurrency(Threadsafe). There is no reason for running systems management function on the QR TCB.
