compare resources

Provide a mechanism to compare multiple resources and highlight the differences.

It would be very useful to be able to easily compare multiple different resources between the two regions.

Hi - thanks for the suggestion!

In our CICS TS V5 open beta (with CICS Explorer V5 open beta) we've introduced a server component which has allowed us to provide some function that might help with this. These functions are called aggregation and grouping.

If you scope or filter your request in a resources view to show the set of resources you're interested in comparing, you can use the aggregate option to look for similarities and differences between the resources. In many situations it's a lot more powerful than compare for the kind of scenario that you're describing.

Have you looked at the beta recently? I wrote a blog post describing the aggregation function - https://developer.ibm.com/cics/2018/01/23/cics-explorer-v5-5-open-beta-aggregation/ - it would be great to hear whether you think this is likely to help in the kinds of scenario you mention, or whether there are additional complexities in your situation.
