Multiple DB2 connections within a single CICS region

The CICS TS DB2 attachment currently supports a single DB2 connection. When a different DB2 has to be accessed we currently have to DPL to another CICS region. This adds complexity to the architecture, the operational management, the customization,    and adds overhead..<br />DB2 datasharing is not a solution for us as our use case is about 2 different datasharing.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

This requirement has been evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next two CICS TS releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in eighteen months time if you wish it to be considered then.

Please can you give details of why a EXEC SQL CONNECT cannot be used to connect to the second DB2, using the local DB2 as a pass through? CICS supports the updating of data in DB2A, followed by the application issuing a connect to DB2B, updating data in DB2B and then syncpointing to commit the data in one UOW.  In this iexample CICS is connected to DB2A and DB2A uses DDF to go to DB2B
