Protecting CPSM Api via SP & DFHEITBS

CICS is able to control usage of the CICS SPI by using the SP option on the translator and RACF protecting a specific module, DFHEITBS, that is loaded at translation time. Shlomo wanted the CPSM API to have this same functionality.

This RFE is satisfied by CICS TS 5.3 which is generally available from December 11th 2015.

The following text has been added to the section entitled Determining who requires access to CICSPlex SM resources (a subtopic of Implementing CICSPlex SM security)

Tip: For application programmers, if you need to control who is allowed to use the CPSM option on the CICS translator, you can use RACF to control who is allowed to load the DFHSMTAB table at translation time. For a description of RACF program control, see the z/OS Security Server RACF Security Administrator's Guide. DFHSMTAB is the language definition table that defines the CICSPlex SM API commands. It is loaded only on demand.

The following text has been added to Translating your program (a subtopic of Writing an EXEC CPSM program):

Note: To determine who is allowed to use the CPSM option on the CICS translator, you can use RACF® to control who is allowed to load the DFHSMTAB table at translation time. For a description of RACF program control, see the z/OS Security Server RACF Security Administrator's Guide. DFHSMTAB is the language definition table that defines the CICSPlex® SM API commands. It is loaded only on demand.

This is something that can be achieved today. We plan to update the documentation to add:

"Note: To determine who is allowed to use the CPSM option on the CICS translator, you can use RACF® to control who is allowed to load the DFHSMTAB table at translation time. For a description of RACF program control, see the z/OS Security Server RACF Security Administrator's Guide. DFHSMTAB is the language definition table that defines the CICSPlex SM API commands. It is loaded only on demand."

This will be added to the topic entitled "Translating your program" which is part of the "Writing an EXEc C{PSM program".

It will also be added to the " "Security for CICSPlex SM" topic"
