This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Support for HTTP OPTIONS is provided by apar PH16992 on CICS TS 5.4 and CICS TS 5.5. It is enabled via a feature toggle com.ibm.cics.http.options.handler={program_name}, where program name is the name of an options handler program that will handle the request. CICS provides a sample options handler program DFHWBOPT.
In the next release beyond CICS TS 5.5, the feature toggle will be removed and options handling will be activated via a new parameter on a TCPIPSERVICE definition.
This is something we would like to address. The RFE is being moved into 'Planned for Future release' status. Please note:
IBM’s statements regarding its plans, directions, and intent are subject to change or withdrawal without notice at IBM’s sole discretion. Information regarding potential future products is intended to outline our general product direction and it should not be relied on in making a purchasing decision. The information mentioned regarding potential future products is not a commitment, promise, or legal obligation to deliver any material, code or functionality. Information about potential future products may not be incorporated into any contract. The development, release, and timing of any future features or functionality described for our products remains at our sole discretion.
We also see a high number of DFHWB0762 /HTTP 405s in our logs in Development and Production due to Microsoft Office Protocol Discovery on client workstations submitting the OPTIONS method on the path to see if they would have write access to the location. As we have no way to control client workstations, ideally CICS should be enhanced to support the OPTIONS method for paths, not just the server's root wildcard. Suboptimally, providing anoption to suppress DFHWB0762 from certain user agents or other variables could be a Band-Aid until full OPTIONS support is available.
Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - Transaction Processing
Product - CICS Transaction Server
For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - WebSphere
Product family - Transaction Processing
Product - CICS Transaction Server
This is aa candidate for a future release
