This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

This RFE is satisfied by CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V5.5 which is GA today 14th December 2018.
This RFE is satisfied by CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V5.5 which is announced today 2nd October 2018 and which has a planned availability date of 14th December 2018.
For more information see the CICS TS V5.5 announcement letter https://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/ShowDoc.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_ca/2/897/ENUS218-352/index.html&request_locale=en
This is something we would like to address. The RFE is being moved into 'Planned for Future release' status. Please note:

Hello,
I've an additional requirement to that RFE.
CICS uses the CICS-Region-UserId to serve File IOs to USS. Maybe for logfile handling or something else.
To secure applications against each other, we can use different CICS-Region-User. Up to now we're forced to run each application in its own liberty server and each server in its own CICS region. When every CICS region uses its own region user with different security-rights in USS, than applications are not able to read/write files from another application.
If CICS (soon) provides more than one Liberty in a CICS region and CICS will use the region user for file handling to USS, than our security will not work and we are not able to use that wonderful RFE. That means we need different UserIds for file handling in each Liberty server.
So, if you provide more than one liberty in a CICS region, than please pay attention to that file handling in USS and spend every Liberty Server its own Liberty-UserID for File IOs in USS.
Best regards,
Juergen (DATEV eG)
Hello,
we've the same requirement. We want to split our applications across separate Liberty-Servers, but run that servers in one CICS-Region. And we want to use the Angel-Process for authorization and authentication to RACF in each Liberty-Server in that region.
The strategy for using Liberty is among others the possibility to run every application in a separate server. With the current architecture, that means, we have to create many many CICS-Regions.
If we don't want to create many regions, we have to collect many applications in one Liberty-Server. Both solutions are not really helpful.
So, a huge vote from us.
Best regards,
Juergen
