Transport data to remote CICS programs and transactions

I need the ability to pass data to a CICS region when a request is made that results in a request to a remote CICS region within the same system or sysplex. This could include LINK PROGRAM or START TRANSID.

    This requirement has been re-assessed. It is not likely that this will be implemented in the next 12-24 months and so it is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

    Todd,

    The DFHTRANSACTION channel could be used to do this already from CICS TS 5.2.

    However there are a some enhancements that might be required to meet your requirement:

    1) The transaction channel must be created in the 1st region when DPLing.
    This could be done in a glue in this region.
    Would this be sufficient or would you need some sort of configuration option to do this automatically
    for all transactions.

    2) There isn't an XPI for PUT/GET container. Would this be a problem?

    3) You would need to use a naming convention to specify that the containers are your similar to the DFH*
    convention for out containers.
    The data would be visible and updatable to by customer code.
    Would you need an XPI to allow containers to be readonly or invisible to customer code?
