We need CICS to recognize the status of the Liberty application startup process (CWWKZ0001I)

We need ability for a CICS region to prevent incoming application requests (Transactions), either with RTA or Policy definitions, until the Liberty JVM has started all the application components (successfully or not) . In other words, for every bundle that successfully enables, we want to wait until the application is "started" before CPSM routes work into this region.

During region startup, a message "CWWKZ0001I: Application xxx started in x.xxx seconds" is generated for each application. We would like the CICS region to recognize the JVM is not ready until all the applications defined to the JVM have started (either successfully or not).

This problem occurs both during region startup and when a JVM restarts after a failure.

Support is provided in CICS TS 6.2 which has been announced and will GA June 14th 2024.New messages DFHRL0137I and DFHRL0138W indicate whether all GRPLIST-defined BUNDLE resources are installed and reached their target status, as defined by the STATUS attribute on their BUNDLE resource definitions. The new messages help you to determine when a CICS region is open for business and ready for workload to be routed its way.

CICS Development: This is something we would like to address. The Idea is being moved into 'Planned for Future release' status.
