Reclaim orphaned storage which was GETMAINed SHARED by CEDF :-
When Customer gracefully exited CEDF via PF3, the CDSA storage would be freed. Otherwise, those storage elements simply accumulated. Therefore, those accumulated CDSA storage won't be released, till CICS region recycles.

The same user from the same terminal properly exiting CEDF this time can not help to release the orphaned storage accumulated due to previous 'ungraceful' CEDF exits, probably because it is already a new transaction with different task number.

Therefore, customer wants CICS to be added a new parm or alike so that he can disable the default "YES" value of the CEDF Continue option. The ultimate goal is to have CICS release the orphaned CDSA storage due to CEDF's GETMAINs.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

    This is not something we plan to look at. It would require redesigning CEDF's storage management, especially across transactions. There is really no concept of orphaned shared storage, so it comes down to using CEDF in the correct way. We would like to address in the future CEDF's unnecessary use of 24bit storage.
