CICS VR Recovered Data set Statistics Report needs to report on backout record counts and actions

CICS VR report for recovered data set statistics does not clearly document when backout record types have been converted from updates to adds or deletes ignored. It also does not clearly describe why duplicate entries for the same dataset with different record counts will exist.

The CICS VSAM Recovery "STATISTICS OF RECOVERED DATA SETS " section of the forward recovery report needs a column identifying the backout record types which were converted from updates to adds and deletes which were ignored. It also needs an update to the CICS Information Center to describe why an FCT ENTRY column may appear in multiple rows of the report due to the forward recovery log containing multiple tie-up and close records for the same BASE or AIX. In the example below, the user does not know why BAS DSNAME V0303C appears duplicated in 2 rows. In this instance, the log contained another open and close for the same file. The description of the report in the CICS Information Center does not provide any details on why multiple rows for the same dataset may exist in the report.

Correction. This RFE was incorrectly closed as having been addressed by CICS VR 5.1. This is not the case, The requirement is reopened and is a candidate for inclusion in e future release. CICS VR 5.1 addressed a similar but different issue regarding batch backout. This requirement is concerned with forward recovery using a fuzzy image copy.
