Request to add PF key short cuts to sessions

We are migrating to your product from another vendor that allows users to associate PF keys with a particular session. This has impacted users productivity by not being able to perform this function.

    Greetings,

I want you to know this kind of functionality was introduced in OA49575. Here is the doc for the feature:

    KLSOPTPF Intercept PF-keys (PUBLIC)

Description: Some customers prefer their users to be able to select a session on the main menu with a PF-Key rather than, for instance, the action characters “S.” For these environments an exit is available to determine just which keys are intercepted when scanning the session list for candidates. If a session's description includes the text string (PFxx) or (PFx) where x is a number, e.g., (PF6), and if the exit defines that PF-Key as a candidate, then pressing that PF-Key will start that session. The (PFxx) text can be anywhere in the description.

Example: Pressing PF11 on the menu below will start a CUA Operator session:
    (apologies for the formatting)

    KLSVSEL1 CL/SuperSession Main Menu More: +

Select sessions with a "/" or an action code.

    Session ID Description Type Status
    ---------- -------------------------------- -------- ------------
    CTSOA Multi
    HELPDESK CL/SS HELPDESK/MONITOR Multi Undefined
    TSO13 Multi
    CUA5 (PF11) CUA Multi

    TN3270D ralvm14.raleigh.ibm.com:23 Multi
    TN3270F CICS55AG Multi

To enable, add this to your KLSSTART command member:
    NTD KLSSOPTS 'KLSOPTPF 1'

Option 0 (or not specified) = no change in operation
Option 1 = Runs the SSPL dialog userexit KLSOPTPF to intercept PF-Keys executed at the main menu to implement PF-Key session selection.

    All the Best,
