DEBUG Request to Support Access Register Mode

Debug needs to support Access Register mode. Debug abends if the user attempts to stop a program that is in Access Register mode.

    The overall market need for this requirement is small, and the resource investment required to do the implementation is very large. Thus, the request for enhancement is not currently aligned with the Debug for z Systems product strategy and near term priorities, and we will not be able to address this requirement in the near future. Therefore, we will be declining this RFE.

    IBM asked...Can you elaborate on the phrase "support Access Register mode"? It's understandable that you would not like to abend if your program under debug enters AR mode. Would it be sufficient to stop the abends? Or would you also require:
    1. Being able to display and manipulate ARs?
    2. Being able to display and manipulate dataspace data?

    Wells Fargo developer responded...
    We would like to display data and trace code while in AR mode. We would not need to manipulate AR's or data space data.
