This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

This is request to add 'customization/rules' to 'Code Coverage'. One example, is 'ELSE' statements for each DB2 SQL statement. All 'ELSE' statements are marked as 'not covered' and report statistics do not provide accurate picture. Number may be correct but meaning not. I have many programs that insert records one in a time into many DB2 tables and program is 'full' of the 'ELSE' statements. Another example is checking for emty input files - do we really want to include those 'block' into statistics, and then number of lines (more detailed 'displays') under 'ELSE' conditions that add to the number of 'not covered code'. Maybe such flexability can be used to verify something during regression testing?

While this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next year, or in the next Debug for z/OS release. Thus, this requirement is being declined at this point. That being said, Filtering support for code coverage files is in plan, but not to the granular level requested via this RFE.
