Using SSL with DT under RD/z

We are being directed to use SSL internally. So, the sysprogs generated keyrings etc for the WUI. I connected using SSL with RD/z to the CICSPlex OK (both on Rd/z V7.6 and V8.0.3).

However, when we try to use Debug Tool (V11.1) it also seems to expect to use SSL when the WUI is set that way. See the SR noted above.

So, we have had to back off using SSL (for the moment). We will be getting chased by our IT Security unit to implement SSL.

As Roger stated in the SR above "To restate the problem or issue, you are trying to run Debug Tool with SSL-enabled when you receive CICS Debug Profile Error with Unrecognized SSL message.
I ran this issue by our Debug Tool L2 colleague and unfortunately, the DTCN plugin currently does not support SSL connections. The remote debugger does but
the DTCN plugin does not support the creation of DTCN profiles."

we will DTCN to function using SSL.

I don't understand wht DT has to use SSL (to a different port) than the WUI though.

BTW, it seems that using DT under RD/z when the WUI CMAS is set to SSL REQUIRES that any CICS region used in the debug session also is SSL enabled and that the TCPIPS definition for the port to talk from the PC to the DT on the mainframe also REQUIRES SSL to be enabled.

When talking to L2 support about this, it probably didn't help that they thought I was using the DTCN plugin (in RD/z) and I was using the built-in facility in RD/z itself.

So, I can use DT with SSL. The fact that I have to do the above may be buried somewhere in the IBM manuals but was not obvious to us.

    Regards,

    Kevin
