Dynamic history file unallocation from IDIS subsystem(s)

Provide a means of unallocating a specific history file from the IDIS subsystem for maintenance such as with an operator MODIFY command so we don't have to bounce all the IDIS subsystems. Ideally, entering the command on one system will be passed to the other IDIS subsystems in the sysplex so the system programmer need enter the command only once per dataset.

    Looking at one of our busiest systems, the last FA event to the history file was written over 20 minutes ago, but the history file is still allocated to the IDI subsystem address space.

    If the IDIS subsystem is managing a history file data set it will relinquish control of it after 5 minutes of inactivity at which point the data set will no longer be allocated to the subsystem and hence can have maintenance performed on it.

    Can you confirm that in your environment that this 5 minute relinquish is happening correctly ?
