User defined messages in Fault Analyzer IDz/Eclipse plug-in

There is a way to use user defined message explanations, abend code explanations and program descriptions in FAN under ISPF environment. Our shop been using IDz for some time already, and more and more people moving into this tooling now. Therefore they cannot get the same functionality in FAN IDz plug-in as they been able to get it in FAN ISPF.

Under ISPF these user defined messages, abends and program descriptions are configured under IDIHUSRM. Ideally would be good to have FAN plug-in to use the same configuration for these messages (download/sync from host). In that case all this configuration would be stored and managed centrally both for ISPF and IDz environments.

However another solution to be able to modify shipped message explanation file on the FAN plug-in also work.

    Hi Hank,
We are looking for user defined abends, messages and program definitions and other definitions could be able to be found via using "Lookup" view within FAN plug-in. Now this works in ISPF using IDIHUSRM, however if I am using FAN plug-in I do not see the same information in my FAN plug-in. So idea is either to have a way to import the same configuration of these user defined information from ISPF to Eclipse/IDz environment manually. Or more better would be that this configuration of user defined information is stored in one place (prefferably host side under some PDS/dataset/uss file) and both environments ISPF and Eclipse/IDz using same information by fetching it each time client connets to host component.

Member IDIHUSRM can be used to define user messages, abend codes and module descriptions (as has already been highlighted in this “Idea”). Once defined these user descriptions will appear in the FA Eclipse report. See the attached file for an example of each type. As such please can you clarify what additional functionality you are looking for in the FA plug-in ?
