RELATED IDEAS

Allow editing of segmented records using Record Descriptor Words (RDW).

The customer is not able to add/remove segments to variable length records using File Manager. With File Aid, they were able to add/remove these
segments with the RDW being automatically recalculated/updated. Customer is a C/C++ shop and would prefere to used the Header File, but is expecting basic support at a minimum.

    We believe this has been delivered with the ability to insert/delete segments and full edit support provided for segmented editing

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Development Tooling
    Product - IBM File Manager

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

    We do not allow direct access to the RDW - but if a user can insert, delete or change the length of a segment would that suffice as far as the segmented part of this requirement.
