Out of the box, IBM SFG allows two files with same name to co-exist. This is not the behavior we want as we have clients sending us multiple files with same name with updated content and latest files should overwrite earlier files. To fix this, we have set the following value in customer_overrides.properties file.
mailbox.disallowDuplicateMessages=true
However, IBM now considers two filenames differing only in case also as duplicate so they overwrite each other.
In summary we want two things:
1. Do not allow duplicate filenames, BUT
2. Do NOT consider filenames differing in case as duplicates. They should be able to co-exist.
What we are asking for really is a normal Unix behavior that most ftp applications handle by default, but IBM SFG does not seem to do so.
