Users want to know when they need to rebind their IBM File Manager for z/OS packages

[Current Product & Version]
-IBM File Manager for z/OS V15
-z/OS V2.5
-Db2 12 for z/OS

[Environment]
Data sharing in three-way sysplex environment

[Problem]
Our customer is planning to upgrade Db2 for z/OS and IBM File Manager for z/OS.

PLAN(yyyy/mm)  IBM File Manager version   Db2 version level
-------------+--------------------------+----------------------
2024/1        FM V141                  Db2V12FL100
2024/7        FM V151(BIND in FMN2BN1K)   Db2V12FL100
2025/1        FM V151(BIND in FMN2BN2K)   Db2V12FL500 → FL510
2026/1        FM V151(BIND in FMN2BN3K)   Db2V13

In IBM File Manager for z/OS Version 15, sample JCL for bind is provided for each Db2 Version (V12FL100/above V12FL500/V13).

====================================
Chapter 16. Customizing FM/Db2

Binding Db2 (required)
•FMN2BN1K Db2 V12 FL 100 binds the FM/Db2 DBRM members into collections used by the plans, FMN2PLAN and
.
•FMN2BN2K Db2 V12 binds the FM/Db2 DBRM members into collections used by the plans, FMN2PLAN and
.
•FMN2BN3K Db2 V13 binds the FM/Db2 DBRM members into collections used by the plans, FMN2PLAN and
FMN2GEN, in a Db2 V13 system
====================================

I asked IBM File Manager support team via CASE(TS015235046) whether it is necessary to re-bind the File Manager package for each Db2 version.
IBM File Manager support team responded that after upgrading to Db2V12FL500, if the File Manager package was left bound with FMN2BN1K (and not re-binded with FMN2BN2K),
it is possible to receive SQLCODE -805.
So, the File Manager package needs to be rebound for each Db2 version(or Db2 level).

However, this information can be known by the user's File Manager personnel, but not by the user's Db2 personnel.

[Workaround(Bypass)]
none

[Proposal/Idea]
We request improvement so that user's Db2 personnel will be able to know when they need to rebind File Manager packages based on the results of the pre-migration inquiry (DSNTIJPM etc).

[Benefits/Value]
Db2 personnel can detect the need to bind File Manager packages during Db2 for z/OS upgrade.

This has been rejected as File Manager does not require a re-bind but does require a bind for new DBRMs at the new DB2 level. It is not within the scope of the File Manager team to modify the DB2 pre-migration process to indicate the need to perform the File Manager binds necessary to support the new version or level of DB2. If File Manager has maintenance or version changes then these come with instructions to perform the binds.

    Hello,

When I created this idea, I selected "Idea visibility" as "Visible only to you and IBM".

Therefore , it seems that this idea cannot be seen by our customers.

I don't know how to change "Idea visibility" to "Visible to everyone".

Can I change "Idea visibility" to "Visible to everyone"?
